Handpaint Yarn pictures

I'm writing this having just finished nightshift, so don't be surprised if I'm tired and a bit weird.

This is a little bit of what I got at Wakkerstroom Fibre Fair. The two hanks of sock yarn on the left are by colourspun and the hank on the right is by the lady at the stall in my previous post. I think it's talking to me... and it wants to become a cowl.

If I get hold of her contact details, I'll post them. (Or maybe I won't. She dyes such beautiful yarn that I might just hoard her details and buy it all myself... Mwahahaaa. Er, ok. I'll just share her details)
This is what I finished on my lunch break. It's Elle Twirl Lurex, colour 006 Blue Sparkle.

I made a scarf using Twirl Lurex in shades of cream and brown for a friend at work. She went to visit her mother, who saw the scarf and wanted it so much that my friend gave it to her. There may have been a short but aggressive tug-of-war before she accepted defeat. I told her I would make her another one and this is it.

Now, I'm not really into sparkles and I'm not sure how I came to have two balls of sparkly yarn in the stash. Maybe there's a scientific explanation, like brownian motion or little giggling yarn gremlins, or something. This means there may be a sparkle-loving knitter somewhere out there who's just discovered two balls of plain cream-coloured merino in her own stash and this sparkly knitter has absolutely no memory of ever buying such a thing. I hope this is the case, rather than yarn-fume induced amnesia...
