Well, Gavin's hat is done. Just basic 2x2 rib, pattern from yarn harlot in her archives. Yarn is alpaca.
He wants his scarf plain. So I'm busy with it. Row after row of boring garter stitch. After getting this far, I needed a fortifying glass of frangelico and a little lie down.
Look at this instead. To the post office lady who gave me a very odd look when I collected my undeniably phallic-looking parcel, this is what was inside. Double-pointed needle holder. I was jealous because I'd seen these on a couple of knit blogs and couldn't find them anywhere until I was messing around on skapie and came across them completely by accident. I snapped them up immediately before anyone else could get them (and I don't feel at all bad about that...)
This holder is made by knitpro and is great for projects that get stuck in your handbag to knit on at odd moments when you have a few minutes. It keeps your stitches on their needles and keeps the needles from poking holes in your bag. Very handy.
