I was off today and had no intention of anything other than reading an Ann Rule book and slothing around in my pyjamas drinking tea.
That is, until I wandered through the lounge and saw the merino roving that I'd ordered from Nurturing Fibres about two months ago while waiting for my spinning wheel.
All of a sudden, I decided that I had to spin it. Right NOW! I blame it on the sugar in my tea.
I spun a thick-and-thin singles...
...then started to ply it with sewing thread. I didn't have sewing thread but I took care of that by bribing Colleen with some chocolate.
The finished product: About 60m of chunky yarn, original roving from Nurturing Fibres, colour Blaze. I think it eventually wants to be either a hat or a cowl. But right now, it's perfectly happy to be a beautiful skein for everyone to admire.
